I-64 Design/Build

This fast-paced design-build Interstate Project included a complete reconstruction of Interstate 64 and associated appurtenances that spans a 12-mile stretch between Spoede Road in St. Louis County and Kingshighway Boulevard. ABNA provided Quality Assurance and engineering design including structural, drainage, and utility. Specific tasks consisted of monitoring erosion and traffic control measures, concrete placement inspection, concrete sampling & testing (air, slump and temperature), aggregate quality testing, sieve analysis, soil sampling for standard proctor tests compressive strength tests on concrete test cylinders, sub grade material testing using nuclear moisture density gauges and asphalt placement sampling, bridge bolt torque inspection and identifying and preparing daily field reports, documenting deficiencies and completed corrective actions.
